A beautiful afternoon for a game of football. Ground hard and dusty so look out for the odd bounce!
Pewsey kicked off and looked a different outfit from the team that played against Trowbridge. Mind you, evening games are always different because a lot of players are away at work. Despite having a lot of the midfield ball Vale only looked promising and did not have many pops at goal.
The same could be said for Hooky. Whilst they looked pretty and energetic in midfield there were not many attacks designed to get round the defence. They forced several corners but the keeper was in charge of most.
With no goals by half time we were looking forward to the second half. Things must improve!
As always, just when you think both sides would go all out for the points, they settled for a draw, and a dour midfield battle continued. Just a couple of attacks got the crowd excited, but they were just as worried when Hooky attacked in case they nicked the points. Gradually Vale pulled further and further back to protect a hard earned point. The referee only had to book one late tackle.
